The Chronomaly are "OOParts", out-of-place artifacts: real objects from history that some claim no ancient people could have made, and that are often hoaxes. They were Trey's cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL. Follow a marked name to walk the trail.
The crystal skulls, quartz carvings found in the Americas and claimed to be pre-Columbian, though they are believed to be modern.
Probably the "Crystal Maiden": a sacrificial victim's skeleton in the cave of Actun Tunichil Muknal in Belize, its bones calcified until they sparkle.
The "ancient astronaut", the idea that visitors from space shaped early civilizations. Its name means "time sailor", and it seems to be Crystal Skull and Crystal Bones combined. The mirror in its chest reflects damage back at the attacker.
The Quimbaya "airplanes", gold figures made between 1000 and 1500 AD: stylized insects to most archaeologists, aircraft to ancient-astronaut believers. It flies through Esperanza Glyph and Pyramid Eye Tablet.
The moai of Easter Island, shown as they often stand: head and shoulders above ground, the rest of the body buried.
The Esperanza Stone of Mexico's Yaqui valley, with Golden Jet and Moai on it. Ironically, neither can be used with its effect: they are the wrong Levels.

The Ica stones, popularized by the Peruvian doctor Javier Cabrera, engraved with dinosaurs and advanced technology and considered a hoax. In ZEXAL, Trey tributes his favourite card, Aztec Mask Golem, to it again and again.

A dogū, a figurine of prehistoric Japan: the Shakōkidogū, whose face looks like Inuit snow goggles, here on its torso.
Machu Picchu, with the Antikythera mechanism or a solar cross on its front and the number 33 on its lower pillar. Its engine is Chateau Huyuk.
Çatalhöyük, the largest and best-preserved Neolithic site, "fork mound" in Turkish. It powers Machu Mech and Vimana, and like Trey's other Numbers, its number is a multiple of 3.
Atlantis, from Plato's Timaeus and Critias; its "Orichalcum Gate" is the metal of that story. Machu Mech is in its art, as Trey equipped it in ZEXAL episode 48.
Executive Summary
The Chronomaly archetype, whose name is a portmanteau of "chronology" and "anomaly," is an Xyz-based strategy focused on "chronological anomalies." Its original OCG name, "OOPArts," is an acronym for "Out-of-Place Artifacts"?a term for objects that shouldn't exist given the technology of their era. This theme is central to the deck's identity, which focuses on rapid "rank-up" plays to summon powerful, high-rank bosses like Number C6: Chronomaly Chaos Atlandis, all inspired by these mysterious artifacts from across history.
Foundational Mechanics: The Ancient Technology
Level Modulation
The archetype's key mechanic involves changing the levels of your monsters on the field, allowing you to easily summon Xyz monsters of various ranks, especially Rank 5 and 6, from your Level 3 and 4 monsters.
Rank Acceleration
Through powerful trap cards like Chronomaly Esperanza Glyph, the deck can use an existing Xyz monster to summon an even more powerful one, quickly climbing the ranks to your ultimate boss monsters.
Core Combo: The Path to Ascension
A single Chronomaly Nebra Disk can start a chain reaction that leads to a powerful Rank 5 Xyz monster with a monster negate.

Normal Summon Chronomaly Nebra Disk. Its effect allows you to search for Chronomaly Golden Jet, your key level modulator.
The Activation
Special Summon Chronomaly Golden Jet and use its effect to increase the levels of both it and Nebra Disk to 5.
The Guardian
Overlay your two Level 5 monsters to Xyz Summon Chronomaly Vimana, which provides a powerful monster effect negation to protect your board.
The Final End Board
A typical Chronomaly end board focuses on establishing a powerful Xyz monster that can control the board, with the ultimate goal of summoning their win condition, Chaos Atlandis.
Monster Negation
Chronomaly Vimana provides a quick-effect monster negate, allowing you to disrupt your opponent's key plays and protect your own setup.
The 100 LP Win Condition
The ultimate goal is to summon Number C6: Chronomaly Chaos Atlandis, which can reduce your opponent's life points to a mere 100, setting up an easy win on the following turn.
