The "Tower" Strategy of the Cyberse Pile
Firewall Dragon is the genesis of Cyberse dominance. Once the most feared card in history, its return marks the core identity of the modern deck.
Originally, Firewall Dragon lacked a "Once per turn" clause on its Special Summon effect. This enabled infinite loops where players could effectively summon their entire deck, leading to degenerate FTKs (First Turn Kills) and unbreakable Extra Links. It was rightfully Forbidden in 2018.
To return to the game, it received a critically balanced errata:
"While Singularity rules the endgame and Darkfluid delivers the finishing blow, the original Firewall Dragon remains the eternal engine that makes the impossible possible."
In the 2025 competitive landscape, Firewall has matured from a simple combo engine into a robust "Tower" strategy. It serves as the unifying framework for the "Cyberse Pile," binding together sub-archetypes like Mathmech, Code Talker, Salamangreat, and the emerging Maliss (M∀LICE) into a Tier 1.5 contender.
The deck leverages the "Link Climbing" mechanic to convert minimal resources into oppressive boards featuring high-Link bosses like Firewall Dragon Singularity and Neo Tempest Terahertz, establishing double-digit interruptions while maintaining high resource efficiency through recursive loops.
The premier one-card starter. Crucially, it Chain Blocks for your Link-1 summons (like Balelynx), insulating your search effects from Ash Blossom. It also provides GY protection against destruction effects.
The resource architect. Searches Cynet Codec or Cynet Conflict when linked off. Its discard cost is often a benefit, sending "Garnets" like Dotscaper or Mathmech Sigma to the GY to be revived later.
The recursive bridge. When sent to the GY for a Cyberse Link, it revives itself. This immediately provides a Link-2 and a body for a Link-3, effectively printing Link Rating for free.
The "Swiss Army Knife" of the deck.
The Apex Predator.
Normal Summon Defenser. Link into Linguriboh. Defenser triggers in GY to summon Firewall Guardian.
Link Linguriboh + Guardian into Cyberse Wicckid. Guardian revives itself. Banish Linguriboh via Wicckid to search Cyberse Sage.
Use Sage to fuse into Diplexer Chimera and synchro (if able). Climb through Splash Mage and Transcode Talker. End on Terahertz (sending Desavewurm) and set up Superfactorial.

LOW IMPACT: The Firewall archetype has been moderately restricted by the TCG banlist, with Mathmech Circular limited.
Meta Implications: Thanks to its Recovers resources via Firewall Dragon and Singularity loops, Firewall remains playable despite the limitation.
