NEXUS

Executive Summary

The Gouki archetype enters the dueling arena as a team of professional wrestling-themed EARTH Warrior monsters. Historically, their true strength was exploited as a hyper-consistent engine for summoning powerful generic Link Monsters, thanks to their relentless cycle of self-replacement.

Following the limitation of key generic enablers, the deck's identity has been fundamentally refocused by new support. This new wave forces a "pure" Gouki strategy by locking the player into their own archetype, but in return, it solves their greatest weakness: swarming the field. The deck now functions as a self-contained, explosive combo deck that leverages its own powerful boss monsters to win the match.

Tag-Out Mechanic

The Gouki Signature Move

The defining gimmick of the Gouki team is their tag-out effect ? when nearly any Gouki monster leaves the field, it adds another "Gouki" card from the Deck to your hand (except itself).

"If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 'Gouki' card from your Deck to your hand, except [this card]."

Instead of losing resources when you Link Summon, every Gouki tags in a new partner. This fuels an endless cycle of combo extension, resilience, and consistency, with Gouki Re-Match as the ultimate payoff.

The Main Roster: Your Tag-Team Partners

The Gouki strategy hinges on understanding the specific role each monster plays. They are specialists categorized as starters, extenders, and utility players.

Starters & Extenders

Gouki Machine Suprex

The new core starter. Can Special Summon itself and another Gouki from hand, immediately setting up Synchro or Link plays.

Gouki Headbatt

A key extender that Special Summons itself from the hand by sending another "Gouki" monster to the GY, fueling combos and setting up for Gouki Re-Match.

Ringside Support

Gouki Re-Match

Arguably the most powerful in-archetype Spell. It revives two "Gouki" monsters. Now searchable via Gouki Dragon Ogre for enhanced consistency.

Gouki Sheik Ogre

The new combo hub. Solves the deck's swarm problem by Special Summoning monsters from hand when you search, enabling massive extension.

Competitive Analysis

Strengths

  • Resource Recursion: The core mechanic ensures you never run out of cards, making combos incredibly resilient.
  • High Explosiveness: New support solves the deck's swarm problem, enabling massive boards from few cards.
  • Consistency: New searchers for key Spells like Re-Match make the deck's best plays more consistent.

Weaknesses

  • The "Gouki-Lock": New core cards lock you into "Gouki" monsters, cutting you off from generic boss monsters like Baronne or Accesscode.
  • Key Choke Points: An Ash Blossom on Re-Match or an Impermanence on Sheik Ogre can be debilitating.
  • Droll & Lock Bird: This hand trap can completely shut down the search-based resource loop for a turn.

Key Synergies

  • Codebreaker Engine: A compact package that turns two monsters into three, providing easy material for a Link-4.
  • Phantom Knights: A small engine that gives access to Phantom Knights' Fog Blade for an extra layer of disruption.
  • Generic Link Monsters: When *not* locked, can easily summon powerful generic bosses like Accesscode Talker.

In the hands of a skilled pilot, Gouki can still enter the ring and overwhelm any opponent unprepared for its relentless onslaught.

Banlist Impact

While the Gouki core remains untouched, the archetype's high means restrictions on generic support cards do have an impact.

Affected Synergistic Cards

Forbidden

  • Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights
  • Topologic Gumblar Dragon
  • Knightmare Mermaid

Limited

  • Summon Sorceress

Meta Implications: Despite restrictions on support cards, Gouki's moderate allows the deck to remain viable with alternative tech choices.
