The release of Phantom Revengers introduces a strategy defined by Resource Appropriation. Known in the OCG as Hecatoncheire (after the hundred-handed giants), the deck leverages the battle immunity of the Illusion type to grind games to a halt.
Rather than simply negating effects, Hecahands actively steal cards from the opponent's Hand, Deck, GY, and Extra Deck to use as Fusion Material. They operate on a principle of "Perfect Information—knowing the opponent's hand via Breus, their deck via Gygas, and their Extra Deck via Xeno.
The Pivot: Shuffles itself from hand to Deck to summon any other Hecahands. Dodges Droll/Imperm. GY Effect: Revives a Hecahands monster.
The Searcher: Shuffles back to search Spells/Traps. GY Effect: Resets a Spell/Trap from GY (Grind Game).
Hand Control: Looks at opponent's hand and Special Summons 1 monster from it to YOUR field.
Deck Control: Excavates top 3 of opponent's deck; steals a monster. Essential for Fusion material.
GY Control: Quick Effect to revive a monster from opponent's GY to your field. Disables recursion.
The Bridge: Contact Fuses using opponent's monsters. Searches Spells/Traps on summon. Battle Immunity.
Extra Deck Rip: Looks at opponent's Extra Deck and steals a monster. On death, steals ALL monsters opponent controls.
The ROTA. Adds a monster, then Sends card to GY to Set a Trap. GY Effect: Forces opponent to "Draw 1, Discard 1" (Triggers Lvl 7s).
Fusion Spell. Lets you treat stolen monsters as "Hecahands" cards. Bounces S/T on field.
Ipt (Monster) & Yad (Spell/Trap). They negate activations and steal the card instead of destroying it.
Pure Hecahands works, but hybrid builds raise the ceiling.
Input: Mirror Swordknight + 1 Discard
Output: Hand Rip (x2), Omni-Negate (Theft), GY Steal.
Advantage: Hecahands. Goddus is MVP here.
Advantage: Even/Slight Disadvantage.
