"The Masked HEROes transform through Mask Change, instantly swapping a HERO on the field for a more powerful form from the Extra Deck. Dark Law banishes instead of sending to the GY, Acid destroys all backrow, and Anki searches more Change Spells. Their identity is fluid, their power absolute—every hero wears a mask."

Jaden's Masked HEROes from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga are Kamen Riders, one colour per Attribute, summoned by changing masks. Follow a marked name to walk the trail.

  7. The brown Rider, EARTH, and the only female Masked HERO. From chapter 59.

  8. The green Rider: kamikaze, divine wind.

  9. The white Rider, LIGHT; with Goka, the only HEROes with kanji in their names.

Executive Summary

The Masked HERO sub-archetype serves as a dynamic and disruptive Extra Deck toolbox for the broader HERO strategy. Accessed via "Transformation Summoning" with the "Change" Quick-Play Spells, it allows a single HERO monster to instantaneously transform into the perfect answer for any situation.

The "Change" Spell Arsenal

Mask Change

The cornerstone Quick-Play Spell. It targets one HERO monster, sends it to the GY, and summons a Masked HERO of the same Attribute. Its speed allows for disruptive plays on the opponent's turn.

Mask Change II

The generic enabler. By discarding a card, you can transform any monster with a Level into a Masked HERO of the same Attribute and a higher Level.

Form Change

A tactical utility card. It swaps a HERO Fusion monster on the field for a Masked HERO of the same Level but a different name.
