Mastering the Columns of Light
The Mekk-Knight archetype offers a unique, reactive playstyle centered on column-based gameplay. As key figures in the "World Legacy" lore, they manifest on the field by capitalizing on the opponent's board presence, making them a premier "go-second" strategy designed to break established fields. Their strength lies in turning the game board itself into a puzzle, forcing opponents to reconsider every card placement lest they create the very columns of light from which these powerful knights emerge to generate overwhelming advantage.
The primary advantage engine. When summoned, it searches for "Mekk-Knight" monsters equal to the number of opponent's cards in its column, making it devastating against an established board.
The most versatile knight. Its Quick Effect banishes a Mekk-Knight (usually itself) to search another, dodging effects and ensuring a constant flow of resources.
The core of the control strategy. Its Quick Effect moves a Mekk-Knight to another column, enabling mobile negation when paired with "World Legacy's Secret".
The deck's go-first enabler. It creates a column by summoning tokens and sends a "World Legacy" card to the GY, setting up powerful Extra Deck plays.
When forced to go first, Mekk-Knights rely on Girsu to establish a formidable control board from a single card.
Normal Summon Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight. Use its effect to send a "World Legacy" card to the GY and then summon tokens to both fields, creating a column.
Link Summon Lib the World Key Blademaster using Girsu and your token. Lib's effect activates, setting World Legacy's Secret directly from your Deck.
Special Summon Mekk-Knight Purple Nightfall to the column with the opponent's token, then use its effect to search for Mekk-Knight Indigo Eclipse.
This setup provides a powerful, movable monster effect negation that can control the entire flow of the opponent's turn.
Lib the World Key Blademaster
Mekk-Knight Indigo Eclipse
World Legacy's Secret (Set)
Indigo Eclipse can move into the column of an opponent's monster effect to negate it with World Legacy's Secret, providing a versatile and recurring disruption.
While the Mekk-Knight core remains untouched, the archetype's The deck benefits from World Legacy support cards, Orcust engine synergy, and generic Link monsters that complement the column mechanic. means restrictions on generic support cards do have an impact.
Meta Implications: Despite restrictions on support cards, Mekk-Knight's Mekk-Knights can integrate with Invoked, Orcust, or Crusadia engines to enhance versatility and power, functioning in hybrid builds. allows the deck to remain viable with alternative tech choices.
