Lore Archive

"The Power Patrons are divine benefactors who channel celestial authority into devastating battlefield effects. Each Patron commands a different aspect of power—military, magical, spiritual—granting their chosen warriors the strength to overcome any opposition."

2026 Update (BLZD & CORI): The introduction of the "Shadow Trinity" pendulums and the Null Realm of Vidria has unified the disparate Medius Lore ecosystems (Artmage, DoomZ, Elvennotes). The paradigm has shifted from hand-advantage mechanics to face-down banishment as a primary cost, unlocking mathematically oppressive end-boards.

The Divine Pantheon

Medius the Pure
Missing: 97556336

Medius the Pure

PROTAGONIST / STARTER

The absolute singularity of the deck. On Normal Summon, it searches ANY Power Patron card or Special Summons one from the Deck. Its graveyard effect grants infinite grind game potential.

Vidolium the Unstable Power Patron of Unity
Missing: 70488851

Vidolium the Unstable

APEX BOSS (LVL 12)

Requires shuffling 1 Fusion, 1 Synchro, and 1 Xyz to summon. Boasts 5000 ATK. Mandatorily banishes ALL cards in both players' Graveyards Face-Down. Unaffected by non-Power Patron monster effects.

I. The Original Deities

Artmage (Fusion)

Nerva the Power Patron of Creation
Missing: 53589300

Deity: Nerva, Patron of Creation

Rewrites any Artmage effect into "Destroy all cards your opponent controls". Bypasses targeting protection.

DoomZ (Xyz)

Jupiter the Power Patron of Destruction
Missing: 68231287

Deity: Jupiter, Patron of Destruction

Uses Equip Spells as ammunition. Destroys cards on field and floats into more resources.

Elvennotes (Synchro)

Junora the Power Patron of Tuning
Missing: 5914858

Deity: Junora, Patron of Tuning

Acts as a Skill Drain for the opponent's board on Summon. Locks columns to prevent Link plays.

II. The Shadow Trinity (Pendulum Integrations)

The new Level 10 Pendulums share a terrifying cost: Banish the top 3 cards of your Deck Face-Down to destroy themselves and cheat out an Extra Deck Boss.

Nervedo the Shadebeast

Scale 1
Nervedo the Shadebeast Power Patron
Missing: 17473466

Ignition: SS Nerva (Fusion).

ED Trigger: Special Summon 1 "Power Patron" or "Artmage" from Deck/ED. Solves the historic Artmage normal-summon choke point.

Jupredo the Shademachine

Scale 1
Jupredo the Shademachine Power Patron
Missing: 43871165

Ignition: SS Jupiter (Xyz) & attach card from hand.

ED Trigger: Add 1 "Power Patron" or "DoomZ" Spell/Trap from Deck to Hand (Searches Vidria or Terminus).

Junoldo the Shadespirit

Scale 1
Junoldo the Shadespirit Power Patron
Missing: 10266279

Ignition: SS Junora (Synchro).

ED Trigger: Add 1 "Power Patron" or "Elvennotes" card from ED/GY to Hand. The ultimate recursion tool.

III. Divine Infrastructure

Null Power Patron Realm - Vidria
Missing: 51669847

Null Power Patron Realm - Vidria

Field Spell
  • Consistency: Reveal ED monster, banish 1 card from hand Face-Down -> Search/SS a mentioned monster.
  • Debuff: Opponent's monsters lose 100 ATK per banished card.
  • The Lock: If Nerva, Jupiter, and Junora are on field, opponent cannot activate GY effects.
Unleashed Power Patron Portal - Terminus
Missing: 25661743

Unleashed Portal - Terminus

Normal Spell
  • Cost & Effect: Send 1 Power Patron from Deck/ED to GY -> Search any DARK Fairy (Medius or Darklord Ixchel).
  • Restriction: Can only attack with Power Patrons.
  • Damage Step: Banish from GY -> Banish opponent's battling monster Face-Down (bypasses protection).

Tactical Operations

The Medius 1-Card Sequence: Establishing the Trinity Lock

This devastating modern route requires only Medius the Pure (or access via Terminus) and 1 discard.

1

Initiation

Normal Summon Medius. SS Power Patron Machine Doom-Z from Deck. Link into Envoy of Pure Prayers, searching the spell Theorealize.

2

GY Manipulation

Activate Theorealize to send a 2nd Medius to GY. Revive it using tools like Theorealize Overdrive, modulating levels as needed.

3

The Shadow Assembly

Activate Shade the Obscure from hand. Pay 1000 LP to destroy a Shadow Pendulum scale. The destroyed pendulum is placed face-up in the ED, immediately triggering its effect to tutor/SS without paying the face-down banish cost.

Establishing The Lock

Cascade the ED triggers to establish Nerva, Jupiter, and Junora. Activate Vidria. The opponent's GY is now entirely locked out. Load Terminus into your GY for Damage Step protection.

Competitive Integrations (Post-BLZD)

Darklord Pile

60-70 Cards Link/Fusion

Utilizes Terminus as a highly searchable ROTA for Darklord Ixchel. Discard Ixchel to draw 2, unbricking hands and loading the GY for Banishment of the Darklords.

Win Con: Insurmountable grind game and using Vidolium as a catastrophic late-game board wipe.

Elvennotes Engine

40 Cards Synchro Focus

Maximizes Junoldo to loop Elvennotes spells from the GY, bypassing HOPT limits. Skews ED towards Chaos Angel and Crystal Wing.

Win Con: Intense Synchro disruption dodging targeted negation via multi-layered chain blocking.

DoomZ Control

40-50 Cards Xyz Focus

Treats Jupredo explicitly as a DoomZ card. Uses it as fodder for DoomZ Break - Diactorus, triggering Jupredo in the ED to search Vidria or Terminus.

Win Con: Rapid Xyz climbing to Varudras and aggressive board breaking.

The original modular strategy prior to the Blazing Dominion convergence.

MODULE B: Fusion (Artmage)

Action

Summon Medius -> Special Summon Artmage Patron.

Payoff

Quick-Effect Fusion into Nerva.

MODULE C: Xyz (DoomZ)

Action

Summon Medius -> Special Summon DoomZ Patron.

Payoff

Cheat out Jupiter or Diactorus.

MODULE D: Synchro (Elvennotes)

Action

Summon Medius -> Special Summon Elvennotes Patron.

Payoff

Level Modulate -> Synchro Junora.

Critical Choke Points

  • The Threat of Droll & Lock Bird Because the entire framework demands multiple sequential searches (via Terminus, Vidria, and Pendulums), a well-timed Droll unceremoniously terminates the turn, leaving Medius stranded.
  • Susceptibility to Nibiru Establishing the Trinity Lock takes 6-8 Special Summons. Unless you aggressively route to Artmage Diactorus (omni-negate) early, the board is highly vulnerable.
  • Preemptive GY Floodgates Despite Vidolium punishing the GY, the deck *needs* the GY for setup (Theorealize, Terminus). Dimension Shifter or Macro Cosmos effectively turns off the core engine.

Metagame Strengths

  • Absolute Immunity to Spot Removal Vidolium is unaffected by non-Power Patron monster effects. Terminus in the GY bypasses battle protection. This invalidates staples like S:P Little Knight or Mirrorjade.
  • The Non-Activating GY Lock Top tier decks (Fiendsmith, Snake-Eye, Maliss) rely on GY activations. Vidria's lock is continuous, meaning it cannot be outed by standard monster negates like Impermanence or Veiler. Opponents must draw unsearchable backrow removal.
  • Bypassing Targeted Negation By using Shade the Obscure from the hand to trigger the Shadow Pendulums directly in the Extra Deck, you bypass on-field monster negation entirely.

Strategic Dominance (Pre-BLZD)

  • The Bridge Theory: Unlike decks locked to one mechanic, Power Patron fluidly adapts. If Artmage (Fusion) is stopped, it pivots seamlessly to DoomZ (Xyz).
  • Recursion: Medius shuffling itself back means you never run out of grind game.

Meta Considerations

  • Medius Dependency: While powerful, the deck relies heavily on resolving Medius. A well-timed Droll & Lock Bird or banishing Medius (Bystials) can halt the engine.
  • Complexity: The non-linear combo lines require high pilot skill.
