Mastering the Art of Flip-Based Control
The Prediction Princess archetype blends two of the game's most unique mechanics: Ritual Summoning and Flip Effects. Initially a passive, battle-focused strategy, modern support has transformed it into a potent, proactive control deck capable of establishing oppressive turn-one lockdowns. The strategy revolves around its Level 9 Ritual monsters, which create a repeatable loop to summon and trigger the effects of powerful, generic Flip monsters. Explore the full list of Prediction Princess cards to see their full potential.
The primary enabler. Her Quick Effect allows you to flip monsters up or down during either player's turn, turning passive Flip effects into active disruption.
The modern linchpin. Her Flip effect Special Summons any Flip monster from the Deck, providing access to game-winning floodgates.
The most important non-Ritual monster. Her Flip effect searches key cards, she recycles herself when used for a Ritual Summon, and she protects your Ritual monsters.
The Ritual Spells that summon your bosses. Both have useful Graveyard effects that provide follow-up resources.
The goal is simple: end your first turn with Tarotrei on the field and Tarotreith set. This unlocks a devastating lockdown on the opponent's turn.
Summon Tarotrei. During your End Phase, use her effect to Special Summon Tarotreith from your hand/GY in face-down Defense Position.
As soon as your opponent's turn starts, use Tarotrei's Quick Effect to flip Tarotreith face-up. Tarotreith's Flip effect triggers, letting you summon a floodgate monster like Guard Dog from your deck, face-down.
Use Tarotreith's own Quick Effect to flip all your monsters face-up. The continuous effect of Guard Dog will activate, preventing both players from Special Summoning monsters.
The strength of Prediction Princess is its ability to tutor the perfect floodgate for any matchup. By repeatedly flipping Tarotreith, you can summon multiple disruptive monsters during your opponent's turn, creating a layered and often unbreakable board.
The engine that flips your monsters.
Searches and summons the floodgates.
Stops all Special Summons.
Negates opponent's monster effects.
While the Prediction Princess core remains untouched, the archetype's Tarotrei and Tarotreith create a repeatable loop to summon and trigger powerful generic Flip monsters means restrictions on generic support cards do have an impact.
Meta Implications: Despite restrictions on support cards, Prediction Princess's Tutor the perfect floodgate for any matchup via Tarotreith's effect allows the deck to remain viable with alternative tech choices.
