"The Salamangreat are cybernetic fire warriors who grow stronger by Reincarnation Link Summoning—using their own Link monster as the entire material. Sunlight Wolf recycles, Gazelle searches, and Balelynx protects the Field Spell. Their cycle of rebirth through flame creates an endlessly recursive advantage engine."

The Salamangreat are fire beasts from the VRAINS anime, and their artworks keep returning to the same sanctuary and its volcanoes. Follow a marked name to walk the trail.

Executive Summary

The Salamangreat archetype is a paragon of resilient, mid-range strategy. It establishes dominance through a sophisticated and recursive resource management system, built upon consistency, recursion, and strategic adaptability. The deck's philosophy of "small investment, big return" allows it to convert one or two starting cards into a self-sustaining engine of advantage that can out-grind opponents over multiple turns.

The Art of Reincarnation: Core Mechanics

The mechanical heart of the Salamangreat archetype is its unique Reincarnation Link Summon. Enabled by the Field Spell Salamangreat Sanctuary, this allows a player to use a single "Salamangreat" Link Monster with the same name as the entire material for another Link Summon. This process unlocks potent secondary effects on the archetype's Link Monsters, turning them from finite resources into renewable assets and forming the basis of the deck's renowned resilience and grind game. This is the secret behind the entire collection of Salamangreat cards.

The Salamangreat Roster: Core Components

Main Deck Engine

  • Salamangreat of Fire: The premier one-card starter, searching any Level 4 or lower "Salamangreat" monster.
  • Salamangreat Gazelle: Arguably the most important main deck monster, it Special Summons itself and sends any "Salamangreat" card from deck to GY.
  • Salamangreat Spinny: The primary combo extender, reviving itself from the GY to provide free material for Xyz or Link Summons.
  • Salamangreat Jack Jaguar: Key to the grind game, recycling resources from the GY to summon itself.

Spells & Traps Arsenal

  • Salamangreat Sanctuary: The Field Spell that enables the entire Reincarnation Link Summon mechanic.
  • Salamangreat Circle: A Quick-Play Spell that functions as a starter by searching any "Salamangreat" monster.
  • Salamangreat Roar: A searchable and recyclable Counter Trap providing a powerful omni-negate.
  • Salamangreat Rage: A flexible Normal Trap offering targeted or mass destruction.

Extra Deck Toolbox

  • Salamangreat Balelynx: The essential first step, searching for Sanctuary and providing protection.
  • Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf: The central hub of the resource loop, recovering monsters and Spells/Traps.
  • Salamangreat Raging Phoenix: The modern boss monster, providing resilience, searching, and a powerful body.
  • Salamangreat Miragestallio: A critical Xyz combo piece that summons any "Salamangreat" from the deck.

Competitive Analysis

Strengths

  • High Consistency: Multiple one-card starters and searchers ensure reliable access to core combos.
  • Powerful Grind Game: The resource loop with Sunlight Wolf makes the deck incredibly resilient in long duels.
  • Flexible & Adaptive: Can easily pivot between a control strategy and an explosive OTK, and has room for many tech cards.

Weaknesses

  • Graveyard Hate: Highly vulnerable to cards like Abyss Dweller and Dimensional Shifter that shut down GY effects.
  • Key Choke Points: A well-timed hand trap on Salamangreat Gazelle or the search for Sanctuary can be debilitating.
  • Nibiru Vulnerability: Core combos easily perform five or more summons, making them susceptible to Nibiru, the Primal Being.

External Synergies & Tech

  • FIRE Support: Synergizes perfectly with generic FIRE support like Promethean Princess and hand traps like Ash Blossom.
  • Cyberse Support: Easily incorporates the Accesscode Talker OTK package for a reliable win condition.
  • Side Deck Options: Can effectively use floodgates like Gozen Match, as the entire archetype is FIRE attribute.
