The Divinity that Defies Darkness
"The Tistina are crystalline entities, modelled, says their official commentary, on the Old One Q'yth-az. They turn the opponent's monsters face-down and then send face-down cards to the GY, a control strategy built around crystal prisons that contain threats both ancient and terrible."
The Tistina are crystal gods, and their official commentary names the Old One Q'yth-az as the model. Follow a marked name to walk the trail.

The Tistina archetype is a unique, control-oriented strategy focused on board manipulation and non-destructive removal. Comprised of primarily LIGHT Aqua monsters, its gameplay revolves around changing an opponent's monsters to face-down Defense Position and then removing them from the field without destroying them. Tistina's power lies in its resilient resource loop and its devastating boss monsters, which can dismantle established boards and establish a powerful control lock that can prevent the opponent from playing the game.
The ultimate board-breaker. Flips the opponent's board face-down, then sends all their face-up cards to the GY.
An easy-to-summon searcher that enables the deck's main disruption by mimicking the Crystal God's effect on the opponent's turn.
The Rank 10 Xyz boss that sends all face-down cards to the GY, clearing the way for a decisive OTK.
The core one-card combo starters that provide access to the Field Spell and initiate the main combo line.
The recursive engine pieces that provide searches and enable direct attacks for OTKs.
The Field Spell that acts as the primary setup tool, sending key Tistina monsters from the deck to the GY.
The deck's modern consistency comes from a powerful one-card combo. Starting with either Fallen of the Tistina or Divine Domain Baatistina allows a player to build their entire board, summoning the crystalline pantheon to establish an unbreakable lock.
Send Fallen of the Tistina from hand to GY to activate Divine Domain Baatistina from deck. Then, use its effect to send Miasma Dragon Tistina from deck to GY.
Miasma Dragon's effect triggers in the GY, Special Summoning itself. On summon, search for Demigod of the Tistina. Special Summon Demigod and search for Breath of the Tistina.
Activate Breath of the Tistina, flip Miasma Dragon face-down to search for Crystal God Tistina. Use Breath's extra Normal Summon to Tribute the face-down Miasma Dragon for Crystal God.
As of the current TCG format, the Tistina archetype is entirely unrestricted, allowing it to operate at full capacity.
