For over two decades, the Ritual Monster Skull Guardian existed as a relic of a bygone era, fading into obscurity as the game evolved. However, the "Voiceless Voice" archetype has thrust this classic monster back into the competitive spotlight. This modern reimagining, Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice, is the centerpiece of a resilient, control-oriented Ritual deck. The strategy revolves around establishing this single, immensely powerful threat and protecting it with layers of in-theme support, excelling at a resource-management grind game to outlast opponents.
The premier one-card starter. She serves as the entire tribute for a Ritual Summon, sets up your Spells/Traps, and revives herself from the Graveyard.
The boss monster and win condition. Boasts 4100 ATK, searches for key monsters, and provides a powerful, non-once-per-turn omni-negate.
A crucial setup tool. She discards herself to search your Ritual Monster and sets up the Graveyard, then banishes herself to perform the Ritual Summon.
A vital piece of protection. It can be discarded from the hand to negate an effect that targets a monster you control, protecting your key starters.
The main searcher and protector. This Continuous Spell adds any archetype card to your hand while shielding your LIGHT monsters from targeting effects.
The archetype's Ritual Spell. Its true power lies in its Graveyard effect, which summons a powerful monster from the deck if your Ritual Monster is removed by an opponent.
