"The battlefield is their concert hall, and every move is a carefully composed note in a grand symphony. The Elfnotes are ethereal maestros who manipulate the very spatial dimensions of combat through harmonic resonance. By shifting positions and striking chords in perfect synchrony, they weave an invisible, inescapable rhythm that disorients their foes, turning chaotic warfare into an elegant, flawlessly choreographed performance."

Elfnotes: Welcome Home
I · Oratorio Garden
  1. Escaping Drastrius's self-destruction through Litera's transportation magic, Medius and his friends fell into her homeland, Oratorio Garden: a fairy nation that worships the Grand Spirit sleeping inside the Great Bud of the Sacred Tree.
  2. Power Patron DoomZ had been dragged along by the spell. When it touched Medius, he went berserk and fell into a coma.
  3. Hoping the Grand Spirit could wake him, Litera turned to the Elfnotes, the Sacred Song Corps who sing sacred poems to it, though they were the last people she wanted to ask. Lucina agreed, if Litera explained what had happened back then once the ritual was over.
  4. Only fairies chosen by the forest, who grow wings, can join the Sacred Song Corps. Lucina, Fortuna and Tinia sang the ritual poem to the Grand Spirit.
  5. Just as the ritual was about to succeed, the Grand Spirit rose from the bud, ominously changed by the power of the Elfnote Power Patron.
  6. It absorbed Lucina as a catalyst and became Strelitzia. The wish to wake Medius was twisted into a wish to wake the Imprisoned Gods, and Strelitzia rampaged until the forest burned.
  7. To protect Medius, Finmel made a temporary contract with the Artmage Power Patron and became Artmage Non-Finito.
  8. While Non-Finito fought Strelitzia, the Elfnote Power Patron slipped into Medius's mind ("To think that you would simply come through a portal...") and opened the three Power Patron Portals sealed there.
  9. The three Imprisoned Gods poured into Medius, and Vidolium the Unstable Power Patron of Unity manifested through him.
  10. Grown on the portals' overflowing power, the beasts who serve the gods became the Power Patron Shades. The Elfnote Power Patron became Junoldo the Shadespirit Power Patron, leading an army of shade to free its god.
  11. Taking on the power of the Grand Spirit, Litera became Elfnote Regina, one of the three with the power to stand against the Power Patrons.
  12. The three nations called a truce and rallied around Finmel, Graflare and Litera. Their prayer was simple: "We will save Medius."

Three Power Patron cards join the concert

Ars Magna "Citrinitas" counts as an Elfnote card, Theorealized Medius counts as a Power Patron card, and Mediclius points straight down at the columns your Elfnotes already hold. The new guide covers the center zone, the resource loops, four combo lines and a tier rating.

Executive Summary: The Power Patron Paradigm

The competitive landscape in the spring of 2026 was fundamentally reshaped by Blazing Dominion (BLZD). Transitioning from a fragile rogue deck focusing purely on grid placement, the modern Elfnote strategy has evolved into a premier Tier 1 metagame contender through the Power Patron Paradigm.

Anchored by the lore of Medius the Pure, the archetype now boasts unprecedented Turn 0 interactivity via Elfnote Regina, and a virtually infinite resource engine driven by the Pendulum monster Junoldo the Shadespirit Power Patron. The strategy bypasses traditional mechanics, executing full combos before the opponent has committed a single card to the board.

Tier 1 Mechanics

  • Turn 0 Disruption Regina summons from hand on opponent's Draw Phase to rip cards or bounce normal summons before Main Phase 1.
  • Infinite Recursion Loop Junoldo generates +1s in the Pendulum scale and recycles Extra Deck resources infinitely.
  • Geometric Suppression Junora permanently denies Extra Deck summons in any column occupied by an Elfnote.

The Fiendsmith Bridge

Pre-emptive Negation Line

  1. 01. Normal Medius the Pure. Search Elfnote Power Patron.
  2. 02. Synchro Medius + Patron into Armades (Level 5).
  3. 03. Link Armades into Fiendsmith's Requiem.
  4. 04. Requiem effect: Summon Lacrima from deck. Lacrima sends Engraver to the Graveyard.
  5. 05. Equip Requiem to Lacrima. Contact Fuse into Necroquip Princess.
  6. 06. Engraver Graveyard effect: shuffle Armades into Extra Deck to Special Summon itself.
  7. RESULT: Overlay Engraver + Necroquip into D/D/D High King Caesar (2x Special Summon Negates) before committing to Elfnote locks.

Turn 0 Disruption Matrix

Going Second execution

Opponent's Draw Phase starts:

1. Activate Elfnote Regina from hand (Spell Speed 2).

Cost: Discard Elfnote Tinia or Lucina.

2. Regina resolves, Summons to CMMZ.

Trigger Regina's mandatory deck-summon effect.

3. Summon Tinia (Water) to field.

Tinia effect triggers: Swap column to instantly rip 1 card from opponent's starting hand before Main Phase 1.

Psychological Pressure: The opponent must now play through an established Level 6 body and a hand-rip while going first.

2026 Format Matchup Dynamics

Dominating Matchups

  • Radiant Typhoon & Chaos Ritual: The column lock from Junora structurally breaks their rigid Link/Synchro climbing paths. They mathematically cannot play through the board.
  • Kewl Tune: In this grind-heavy rivalry, Junoldo's ability to recycle from the face-up Extra Deck gives Elfnote the definitive late-game attrition advantage.

Exploitable Chokepoints

  • Droll & Lock Bird: The absolute nemesis. Dropping Droll in response to Medius or Junoldo's draw immediately terminates the Elfnote turn.
  • Center Zone Denial: Trap cards or tokens forced into the Center Main Monster Zone prevent Regina's effect from activating and disable Power Patron's level modulation.
  • The 5th Summon (Nibiru): Pure builds frequently hit 5 summons before establishing Junora. A well-timed rock clears the CMMZ entirely.

Classic Summary: The Positional Orchestra

The release of Burst Protocol introduced a paradigm shift in board geometry with the Elfnote archetype. Unlike traditional decks that focus on accumulating resources in a linear fashion, Elfnote focuses on Positional Equity. The deck revolves around the Center Main Monster Zone (Column 3), effectively playing a game of "musical chairs" where the value of a monster is determined by its physical location on the mat.

By utilizing Quick Effects to swap positions, the deck executes sophisticated evasion and disruption maneuvers. For a complete list of compositions, conductors, and arrangements, you can consult the Elfnote Archives to understand the full scope of the symphony.

Core Mechanics

  • Center Stage Monsters in the middle zone gain powerful effects and immunity.
  • Positional Velocity Swap columns to dodge targeting (Imperm) and trigger effects.
  • Column Lock The boss, Junora, denies Extra Deck summons in occupied columns.

Executive Summary: The Chaos Origins Shift

Chaos Origins (CORI) represents a monumental leap for the Elfnote archetype, systematically resolving every structural weakness carried since Burst Protocol. Three cards — Elfnote June Pride, Elfnotes: Quatrain of Succession, and Theorealize Past Lull — work in concert to eliminate draw dependency, protect key summons from hand traps, and introduce an explosive boss monster that converts a single Synchro into a three-body disruption cascade.

Before CORI, Elfnote was a fragile reactive deck — one Ash Blossom ended the turn and the deck bricked without the exact right Tuner level. Post-CORI, the archetype actively climbs into Level 10 Synchros off a single backrow card, executes protected combo lines immune to standard hand traps, and punishes the opponent's Main Phase with layered Quick Effect disruptions.

What Changed

Pre-Chaos Origins

Draw-dependent Tuner access — bricked without the right level match.

No protected starter — single Ash Blossom ended the turn.

No true archetype boss monster; relied on generic Synchros.

Center zone could be banished, disabling the entire strategy.

Post-Chaos Origins

On-demand Level 1–4 Tuner token via Quatrain — exact math every time.

Past Lull summons Medius with summon-response immunity.

June Pride is a +2/+3 boss that disrupts on the opponent's turn.

Quatrain protects center zone from opponent's banish effects.

The Chaos Origins Trio

Elfnote June Pride

Elfnote June Pride

CORI · Ultra Rare

Level 10 LIGHT Spellcaster Synchro · 3100 ATK / 1800 DEF · 1 Tuner + 1 Spellcaster non-Tuner

① Attack Lock: While in the center Main Monster Zone, neither player can declare attacks with monsters not in the center Main Monster Zones.
② Quick Effect Tag-Out (HOPT): During the Main Phase, if in the center MMZ — return to Extra Deck → Special Summon up to 1 "Elfnote" monster each from your hand, Deck, and/or GY.

The tag-out is a raw +2 to +3 in card economy. By vacating the center zone, the newly summoned Lucina, Tinia, and Fortuna immediately trigger their Quick Effects on the opponent's turn — Lucina bounces a monster, Tinia banishes from hand, Fortuna bounces a Spell/Trap — turning the opponent's Main Phase into a psychological minefield of stacked disruptions.

Elfnotes: Quatrain of Succession

Elfnotes: Quatrain of Succession

Continuous Trap · CORI — Common

① Banish Shield: The monster in your center MMZ cannot be banished by opponent's card effects.

② Tuner Forge (HOPT): Send 1 other Spell/Trap from hand or field to GY, declare Level 1–4 → Special Summon 1 Elfnote Seraphim Token (Plant / Tuner / FIRE / ATK 0 / DEF 0) at that Level. While the token is on the field, you can only Special Summon Elfnote monsters from the Extra Deck.

Theorealize Past Lull

Theorealize Past Lull

Normal Spell · CORI — Ultra Rare

① Protected Starter: If you control an "Artmage", "DoomZ", or "Elfnote" card — Special Summon 1 "Medius the Pure" from your hand or Deck. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects when it is Summoned.

② GY Revival: Banish this card from GY: target 1 Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monster in your GY → Special Summon it to a zone a Link Monster points to.

The summon-response immunity completely shuts out Ash Blossom and on-summon negates, guaranteeing Medius lands and resolves its "add/summon Power Patron" effect uncontested. The GY effect creates a search-and-summon loop with Power Patron Envoy of Pure Prayers. Activatable off a face-up Welcome Home or Quatrain of Succession — no hand monsters required.

Chaos Origins Choreography

The "Quatrain Ascent"

Single Elfnote → June Pride + 3-Body Tag-Out

  1. 01.Activate Quatrain of Succession: send a redundant backrow to GY, declare Level 4 → Special Summon Elfnote Seraphim Token (Level 4 Plant/Tuner/FIRE).
  2. 02.Normal Summon any Level 6 Elfnote (e.g., Lucina). Lucina searches Power Patron or another Elfnote to hand.
  3. 03.Tune Token (4) + Lucina (6) → Synchro Summon Elfnote June Pride (10) to center MMZ. Attack lock activates.
  4. 04.During opponent's Main Phase: activate June Pride's Quick Effect — return to Extra Deck → summon Lucina (Deck), Tinia (GY), Fortuna (GY).
  5. RESULT:Three bodies fire sequentially: Lucina bounces a monster, Tinia banishes a hand card, Fortuna bounces a Spell/Trap — all before the opponent resolves their key play.

The "Past Lull Pivot"

Hand-Trap Insurance via Fiendsmith Bait

Scenario: Opponent holds Ash Blossom

1. Open with Fiendsmith engine — bait hand traps.

Opponent commits Ash Blossom to stop Lacrima's search effect.

2. Activate Theorealize Past Lull (control Elfnote continuous spell).

Special Summon Medius the Pure from Deck — opponent cannot respond.

3. Medius resolves safely: add or summon Elfnote Power Patron from Deck.

Hand traps exhausted. Full Elfnote line resolves uncontested.

4. GY: Banish Past Lull → revive Synchro from GY to Link zone for additional extension.

The reverse pivot also works: if Elfnote is interrupted first, use remaining bodies for Fiendsmith combos — the double-layer is intentional.

Competitive Outlook: Post-CORI

Resolved Weaknesses

  • Level matching is fully deterministic via Quatrain token.
  • Past Lull provides a protected starter immune to Ash Blossom.
  • Center zone shielded from opponent's banish effects.
  • June Pride removes dependency on generic Synchros as the endboard.

New Synergies

  • Quatrain enables Strelitzia (Lvl 7) and Kewl Tune B2B (Lvl 8) off a single Elfnote.
  • June Pride tag-out synergizes perfectly with the Fiendsmith bait structure.
  • Past Lull GY effect extends via Power Patron Envoy link zone, forming a search-summon loop.

Remaining Chokepoints

  • Droll & Lock Bird on Medius's add effect still terminates the turn cold.
  • Quatrain Token locks Extra Deck to Elfnotes while live — conflicts with non-Elfnote engines.
  • Nibiru on the 5th summon before Junora remains a clean out.

Executive Overview: The Patron's Concerto

Elfnote is a Level 6 Spellcaster engine that plays for one square of the mat: your center Main Monster Zone. Lucina, Tinia and Fortuna Special Summon themselves only there, Regina calls a second Elfnote from the Deck when it lands there, and Elfnote Power Patron raises whatever stands there by 3 Levels and Synchro Summons on the spot. On your opponent's turn, Lucina, Tinia and Fortuna each switch places with the monster in the center to bounce a monster, banish a card from the hand, or bounce a Spell/Trap.

Beyond the Brave prints no card with Elfnote in its name, but three of its cards plug straight into the deck. Ars Magna "Citrinitas" is always treated as an Elfnote card, so Tinia places it face-up from the Deck and it adds Medius the Pure or Theorealized Medius. Theorealized Medius counts as a Power Patron card and summons itself from the hand whenever Elfnote Power Patron, Junora or a Junoldo in the Pendulum Zone is on the field. Mediclius the Extraordinary Power Patron is the deck's first Link boss: from an Extra Monster Zone its three arrows point down at the center zone and the two zones on one side of it.

The result keeps what Elfnote already did well and patches what it didn't. Going first, the opponent's-turn rotation stays and Mediclius adds a board-wide banish on top. Going second, the deck's weak spot in player reports so far, Junoldo turns into Junora for a negate on every face-up card, and Mediclius negates their monsters and halves their ATK, without spending a single Elfnote Quick Effect.

Beyond the Brave reaches TCG shelves on 8 October 2026. Until then the three cards marked New aren't TCG-legal, and combo lines 2 and 4 need them.

What Beyond the Brave changes

A Medius from your Spell & Trap Zone

Citrinitas is an Elfnote Continuous Spell for Tinia and an Elfnote card for Power Patron's search. Once while it's face-up it adds a "Medius" monster, and on its own it turns on Theorealize Past Lull.

A search off any Power Patron

Theorealized Medius drops from the hand next to Elfnote Power Patron, Junora or a Pendulum Zone Junoldo, and adds a Theorealize Spell/Trap: Past Lull for Medius the Pure, Overdrive for a revival, or Liberation for a 300 ATK/200 DEF monster.

A Link boss that reads your columns

Mediclius's arrows only point at monsters from an Extra Monster Zone, and from there they always include the center. Three pointed monsters make it unaffected by your opponent's activated effects and let it banish their whole field once per opponent's turn.

Our rating: Tier 2 now, Tier 1 contender once Beyond the Brave is legal

  • Consistency4 / 5 Lucina alone makes a full board; Medius the Pure and Citrinitas extend almost any second card.
  • Going first4.5 / 5 Four opponent's-turn disruptions from one card; Mediclius's banish on top with two.
  • Going second3.5 / 5 Up from about 2: Junora's arrival negate plus Mediclius's negate-and-halve.
  • Resilience3 / 5 Droll & Lock Bird and Nibiru still end or cripple most turns.
  • Room for tech4 / 5 One-card starters leave around 15 slots for hand traps and breakers.
  • The TCG list now holds Elfnote Tinia and Prohibited Power Patron Portal - Terminus at one copy each. Public TCG lists from June 2026 ran three of both.
  • Master Duel player reports from June 2026 placed the deck between strong rogue and Tier 3, and named going second as its weak spot.
  • Two of Beyond the Brave's three cards are going-second tools, and the third is a going-first finisher.

This is the site's own rating from card power and the evidence above, not a tournament statistic. The full reasoning is in the verdict.

1 · The Center Stage: Positions, Columns and Attributes

Every Elfnote decision starts with two questions: what is standing in your center Main Monster Zone, and what is next to it?

What reads the center zone

CardNeeds the center for
Lucina · Tinia · FortunaTheir hand summon goes only to the center. Their switch needs a monster there and moves them into it.
ReginaCalls an Elfnote from the Deck only when Normal or Special Summoned to the center.
Elfnote Power PatronIts +3 Levels can only target the center monster.
JunoraCan treat the center monster as the Tuner for its own Synchro Summon.
June PrideIts attack lock and its tag-out both work only from the center.
StrelitziaIts original ATK becomes 3000 only in the center.
Welcome Home · Plea for Help · QuatrainThe center monster can't be destroyed by card effects, can't be targeted by your opponent's card effects, or can't be banished by your opponent's card effects.
Rhapsodia of MadnessWhile you control a center monster, your opponent's monsters can only attack that one.

How the switch works

  1. The Elfnote must be in one of your other Main Monster Zones, and the center must hold a monster.
  2. They trade places: the Elfnote ends in the center and the old center monster takes its zone. Then the bonus: Lucina returns a Level 6 or lower monster to the hand, Tinia banishes a random card from the hand face-up until the End Phase, Fortuna returns a face-up Spell/Trap to the hand.
  3. Each works once per turn and only on your opponent's turn, but they feed each other: Tinia switches in, Lucina switches with Tinia, Fortuna switches with Lucina. One monster in the middle and three beside it is three disruptions.
  4. The bonus is optional ("then you can"), so a switch also works as pure repositioning, for example to change which monster Plea for Help reads.
  5. A negated switch (Infinite Impermanence, Effect Veiler) moves nothing and bounces nothing.

Column control

Junora's material lock

Quick Effect, once per turn: until the end of the turn, your opponent's monsters in the same column as your Elfnote monsters can't be Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Material. Junora itself isn't an Elfnote monster; June Pride, Strelitzia, Elfnote Power Patron and Junoldo are. The Extra Monster Zones sit in columns 2 and 4, so an Elfnote in your second or fourth zone also covers the Extra Monster Zone above it. The lock doesn't target.

Moving on demand

Elfnotes: Aristeia of Trust moves one of your face-up monsters to another of your Main Monster Zones once per turn. It's a Continuous Trap effect, so it works on your opponent's turn: step an Elfnote into the column of the monster they are about to use. With 3 or more Elfnote monsters it also negates an opponent's Spell/Trap effect, and destroys that card if you control a Synchro Monster.

Arrows from above

Mediclius only points at something from an Extra Monster Zone: from the left one it covers your first three Main Monster Zones, from the right one the last three. Both include the center. Purification Power Patron's bottom arrow covers the zone under it, where Theorealize Past Lull's GY effect can revive a Synchro Monster.

June Pride in the center stops every monster outside a center zone from attacking, yours included. Keep it out of the center, or skip it, when you need an OTK.

Attribute shifting

Five Attributes run through the engine, and two different rules read them.

  • FIRELucina, Elfnote Power Patron, Strelitzia, Junora
  • WATERTinia, Mediclius
  • LIGHTFortuna, June Pride
  • WINDRegina
  • DARKJunoldo, Medius the Pure, Theorealized Medius, Purification Power Patron

Plea for Help reads the center monster's current Attribute

Center AttributePlea for Help gains
FIRE or EARTHYour Synchro Monsters inflict piercing damage.
WATER or WINDYour other face-up Spells/Traps can't be destroyed by your opponent's card effects.
LIGHT or DARKYou take no battle damage.

In every mode your opponent can't target the center monster with card effects. A switch changes the mode mid-turn: Tinia switching in turns on the Spell/Trap shield, Fortuna switching in turns off battle damage.

Welcome Home and Rhapsodia read original Attributes

Welcome Home sends a monster and calls an Elfnote with a different original Attribute from the Deck. Rhapsodia sends a monster and revives one from the GY on the same rule. With FIRE, WATER, LIGHT, WIND and DARK in the engine there's always a legal pair: FIRE Lucina for LIGHT Fortuna, WATER Tinia for FIRE Power Patron, WIND Regina for DARK Junoldo.

Theorealize, the Normal Spell, can banish itself from the GY to change a face-up monster's Type and Attribute until the end of your opponent's turn. That changes Plea for Help's mode, and it can make a non-Spellcaster the Spellcaster June Pride asks for. It doesn't touch the original Attribute, so it doesn't help Welcome Home or Rhapsodia.

Theorealize (GY effect)

What this board does

  • Center: Elfnote June Pride (LIGHT).
  • No Lucina, Tinia or Fortuna beside the center, so no switches this turn.
  • June Pride is in the center: only center monsters can attack, and its tag-out can summon an Elfnote each from your hand, Deck and GY.
  • Welcome Home: June Pride can't be destroyed by card effects.

Regina refunds itself

Sent to the GY as Synchro Material, Regina returns to your hand. Its effects are once per turn, so on your own turn it's only a card back. On your opponent's turn all three are fresh: it summons itself from the hand as a Quick Effect, and if the center is empty it calls another Elfnote from the Deck.

June Pride's round trip

The tag-out sends June Pride back to the Extra Deck, not the GY, so the same copy can be summoned again. It also answers removal by leaving, with three summons in its place. It can't help in the Battle Phase: the effect is Main Phase only.

Junoldo's double dip

In the Pendulum Zone, Junoldo destroys itself when a Power Patron or Elfnote monster is Special Summoned to your field: draw 2, then discard 1. A destroyed Pendulum Monster goes to the Extra Deck face-up, which triggers its other effect: add a Power Patron or Elfnote card from your face-up Extra Deck or GY. Discard an Elfnote card to the draw and that effect can add it straight back. As a monster, Junoldo becomes Junora instead, with the same refund afterwards.

Medius never stays gone

Medius the Pure revives itself from the GY by shuffling a monster from your hand or field into the Deck (it's banished when it leaves). Theorealize Overdrive revives it from the GY or banishment, and Past Lull calls a fresh one. Past Lull's GY effect revives a Fusion, Synchro or Xyz Monster to a zone a Link Monster points to: June Pride or Junora back under Mediclius. Only one Past Lull effect per turn, though.

3 · Turn 1 Boards, Hand Disruption and Recovery

Elfnote's first turn builds a small board that does most of its work on the opponent's turn. Count disruptions by what fires on their turn, not by what's on the field.

Board A · Lucina alone

  • June Pride in the center, safe from destruction by card effects under Welcome Home
  • Welcome Home face-up, Rhapsodia Set
  • Regina in hand; Normal Summon still free

Their turn: Rhapsodia revives Tinia and negates a card; June Pride tags out; Tinia, Lucina and Fortuna switch in. Four disruptions.

Board B · + Theorealized Medius

  • Junora, Fortuna, June Pride in your first three zones
  • Purification Power Patron in the left Extra Monster Zone, Medius the Pure beside it
  • Welcome Home and Rhapsodia face-up, Regina in hand

Their turn: Mediclius arrives pointing at three monsters (unaffected by their activated effects, banishes their field once); Junora locks columns 2 and 3 and the left Extra Monster Zone; Rhapsodia; Fortuna; June Pride's tag-out.

Board C · the instant Junora

Take Strelitzia instead of June Pride in Line 1 (a regular Synchro Summon of Power Patron + Regina), let the first Power Patron add the second, and Normal Summon it. On their turn: Regina summons itself to the empty center by sending Welcome Home and calls Fortuna; Strelitzia revives Lucina and cuts every Level by 3; Power Patron lifts Regina back to 6; Junora = Power Patron (1) + Regina (6) + Fortuna (3). Its arrival negates every face-up card they control.

Order of operations on their turn

  1. Tinia early. A random banish in their Standby Phase, or in response to their first activation, hits the hand at its fullest. The card comes back at the End Phase, so it's tempo, not card advantage.
  2. Negate while the Synchro is there. Rhapsodia's negate needs you to control a Synchro Monster when it resolves: use it before June Pride tags out.
  3. Tag out in response. June Pride's return to the Extra Deck is a Quick Effect: answer targeted removal by leaving, and the three summons replace it.
  4. Hold Regina for an empty center. With June Pride in the center, Regina's hand summon lands off-center and calls nothing. Right after the tag-out the center is free.
  5. Junora once their monsters are down. The column lock matters after the summons that set up a Link or Synchro climb. It's once per turn.
  6. Mediclius's tiers ride on the monsters under it. You can Link Summon it early and hold the banish: with two or more pointed monsters it's unaffected by their activated effects. Each monster they remove from under it drops a tier.

Quick-effect hand disruption

  • Tinia banishes a random card from their hand face-up until the End Phase. Use it before they spend that hand, on a hand trap or an extender.
  • Regina summons itself from your hand at Spell Speed 2, as early as their Draw Phase. Into an empty center it also calls an Elfnote from the Deck, so a switch can follow straight away.
  • Elfnote Power Patron Synchro Summons in their Main Phase: June Pride, or Junora with its full-field negate (Board C).
  • Fortuna returns a face-up Spell/Trap, including Field Spells and Continuous floodgates, and Lucina a Level 6 or lower monster. Lucina can't bounce Xyz or Link Monsters: they have no Level.

Elfnote Lucina

FIRE · Spellcaster · Level 6 · 2500/1800
Burst Protocol · TCG 5 Feb 2026

  • Starter
  • Core · 3
  • OCG Limited · TCG unlimited

The best one-card starter. It summons itself to the center, adds any Elfnote monster (Regina most turns, Junoldo when you want the Pendulum draw), then waits for your opponent's turn to switch in and bounce a Level 6 or lower monster.

  • Its hand summon starts no chain, so a hand trap can only stop the search.
  • It can't bounce Xyz or Link Monsters: they have no Level.
  • Junoldo is always treated as an Elfnote card, so Lucina can add it.
Card text

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) to your center Main Monster Zone. You can only Special Summon "Elfnote Lucina" once per turn this way. You can only use each of the following effects of "Elfnote Lucina" once per turn. During your Main Phase: You can add 1 "Elfnote" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Elfnote Lucina". During your opponent's turn (Quick Effect): You can switch the locations of this card in your Main Monster Zone and the monster in your center Main Monster Zone, then you can return 1 Level 6 or lower monster your opponent controls to the hand.

Places an Elfnote Continuous Spell face-up from the Deck: Welcome Home, Plea for Help, or now Ars Magna "Citrinitas". On your opponent's turn its switch banishes a random card from their hand face-up until the End Phase.

  • Placing Citrinitas turns on Past Lull and adds a Medius in the same turn.
  • The banished card returns at the End Phase: aim it at a hand trap or starter before it's used.
  • At one copy, most lines call it from the Deck with Regina instead of drawing it.

  • A placed Rhapsodia or Aristeia can be used on your first turn.
  • It can also return your own Citrinitas, whose search works once each time it's face-up.
  • LIGHT Fortuna plus DARK Medius the Pure make Chaos Angel with both bonuses.

Elfnote Regina

Blazing Dominion · TCG 7 May 2026

  • Engine
  • Core · 3

The pivot of every line. From the hand it summons itself at Spell Speed 2 by sending another Elfnote card; in the center it calls any Elfnote from the Deck; used as Synchro Material it returns to the hand.

  • A face-up Continuous Spell or Trap you've already used is a fine cost.
  • Its Deck call only happens in the center: with June Pride there, summon it after the tag-out.
  • Its refund makes it the ideal non-Tuner for June Pride.

Elfnote Power Patron

Elfnote Power Patron

FIRE · Fiend · Level 1 Tuner · 300/200
Burst Protocol · TCG 5 Feb 2026

  • Tuner · Level +3
  • Core · 2

The Level 1 Tuner that makes Elfnote a Synchro deck. As a Quick Effect in either Main Phase it adds 3 Levels to the center monster and Synchro Summons an Elfnote Synchro or Junora on the spot. As Synchro Material it adds any Elfnote card.

  • While it's face-up you can only summon Synchro Monsters from the Extra Deck: make Link Monsters first, or after it has left.
  • It has "Power Patron" in its name, so it turns on Theorealized Medius.
  • At 300/200, Theorealize Liberation fetches it, and Vidolia finds it by revealing Junora.
Card text

You cannot Special Summon from the Extra Deck, except Synchro Monsters. You can only use each of the following effects of "Elfnote Power Patron" once per turn. During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster in your center Main Monster Zone; increase its Level by 3 (until the end of this turn), then immediately after this effect resolves, you can Synchro Summon 1 "Elfnote" Synchro Monster or 1 "Junora the Power Patron of Tuning". If this card is sent to the GY as Synchro Material: You can add 1 "Elfnote" card from your Deck to your hand.

Junoldo the Shadespirit Power Patron

Junoldo the Shadespirit Power Patron

DARK · Fiend · Level 10 · Pendulum Scale 1 · 300/200
Blazing Dominion · TCG 7 May 2026

  • Draw engine · Junora shortcut
  • Core · 2

Two cards in one. In the Pendulum Zone it destroys itself when a Power Patron or Elfnote monster is Special Summoned to your field: draw 2, discard 1. As a monster, banish the top 3 cards of your Deck face-down to turn it into Junora, treated as a Synchro Summon. Either way it lands in the Extra Deck face-up and adds a Power Patron or Elfnote card from there or the GY.

  • Regina, Lucina, Medius the Pure, Liberation and Welcome Home (it's the only DARK Elfnote) all fetch it.
  • The Junora it makes gets the arrival negate: your best going-second play.
  • Discard an Elfnote card to its draw and the Extra Deck effect can add it back.
Card text

[ Pendulum Effect ]
If a "Power Patron" or "Elfnote" monster(s) is Special Summoned to your field, while this card is in your Pendulum Zone (except during the Damage Step): You can destroy this card, and if you do, draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Junoldo the Shadespirit Power Patron" once per turn.

[ Monster Effect ]
(This card is always treated as an "Elfnote" card.)
You can banish the top 3 cards of your Deck, face-down; destroy this card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Junora the Power Patron of Tuning" from your Extra Deck (this is treated as a Synchro Summon). If this card is added to your Extra Deck face-up: You can add 1 "Power Patron" or "Elfnote" card from your face-up Extra Deck or GY to your hand, except "Junoldo the Shadespirit Power Patron". You can only use each effect of "Junoldo the Shadespirit Power Patron" once per turn.

Elfnote June Pride

LIGHT · Spellcaster · Level 10 Synchro · 3100/1800
Chaos Origins · TCG 2 Jul 2026

The deck's own Level 10. In the center, only monsters in center zones can attack. As a Quick Effect in either Main Phase it returns to the Extra Deck and summons one Elfnote each from your hand, Deck and GY: that's how one board becomes three switch disruptions on your opponent's turn.

  • Materials: a Tuner and a Spellcaster. Power Patron + a center Elfnote raised to 9 is the standard.
  • The tag-out summons from the Deck, so Ash Blossom can negate it.
  • Its attack lock hits you too: skip it when you need an OTK.
Card text

1 Tuner + 1 non-Tuner Spellcaster monster
While this card is in the center Main Monster Zone, neither player can declare attacks, except with monsters in their center Main Monster Zones. During the Main Phase, if this card is in the center Main Monster Zone (Quick Effect): You can return this card to the Extra Deck, and if you do, Special Summon up to 1 "Elfnote" monster each from your hand, Deck, and GY. You can only use this effect of "Elfnote June Pride" once per turn.

Elfnote Seraphim Strelitzia

FIRE · Plant · Level 7 Synchro · ?/3000
Burst Protocol · TCG 5 Feb 2026

A Quick Effect that summons a Level 6 or lower Elfnote from the hand or GY, then can cut every Level 4 or higher monster on the field by 3. That turns two Level 6 Elfnotes into the 3s Junora needs, and it can wreck your opponent's Level math mid-turn.

  • Its ATK is 3000 only in the center; elsewhere it's 0.
  • After its effect: only Synchro Monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn.
  • Ending your turn on it sets up the opponent's-turn Junora (Board C).
Card text

This card's original ATK becomes 3000, while in the center Main Monster Zone. During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower "Elfnote" monster from your hand or GY, then you can reduce the Levels of all Level 4 or higher monsters on the field by 3 until the end of this turn, also you cannot Special Summon from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Synchro Monsters. Its Quick Effect keeps their monsters in your Elfnotes' columns out of Fusion, Synchro, Xyz and Link Summons for the turn.

  • Power Patron + a Level 9 is only two materials: that's June Pride, not Junora.
  • It isn't an Elfnote monster, so it doesn't cover its own column.
  • It has "Power Patron" in its name: it turns on Theorealized Medius.
Card text

1 Tuner + 2 non-Tuners
For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 monster in your center Main Monster Zone as a Tuner. If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can negate the effects of all face-up cards your opponent controls. (Quick Effect): You can activate this effect; monsters your opponent controls in the same column as the "Elfnote" monster(s) you control cannot be used as material for a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Summon, until the end of this turn. Beyond the Brave · TCG 8 Oct 2026

  • New
  • Extender
  • Core · 2

If a Power Patron card is on the field (Elfnote Power Patron, Junora, a Junoldo in the Pendulum Zone) it summons itself from the hand and adds a Theorealize Spell/Trap. When a monster is banished face-up outside the Damage Step, it adds an Ars Magna card or banishes itself for a Diactorus monster from the Extra Deck.

  • Medius the Pure can summon it from the Deck, but the search only comes with its own hand summon.
  • It isn't an Elfnote card, so on its own it doesn't enable Past Lull.
  • With Medius the Pure it's the pair for Purification Power Patron.
Card text

(This card is always treated as a "Power Patron" card.)
If a "Power Patron" card is on the field: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, then you can add 1 "Theorealize" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. If a monster is banished face-up (except during the Damage Step): You can activate 1 of these effects;
● Add 1 "Ars Magna" card from your Deck to your hand.
● Banish this card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Diactorus" monster from your Extra Deck.
You can only use each effect of "Theorealized Medius" once per turn.

Chaos Origins · TCG 2 Jul 2026

  • Protected Medius
  • Core · 2

With an Artmage, DoomZ or Elfnote card on your field, it summons Medius the Pure from the hand or Deck, and your opponent can't activate cards or effects when it is summoned. From the GY it can instead revive a Fusion, Synchro or Xyz Monster to a zone a Link Monster points to. One Past Lull effect per turn.

  • Theorealized Medius and Purification Power Patron both search it.
  • Its GY effect puts June Pride or Junora back under Mediclius.
  • Any face-up Elfnote card enables it, including Welcome Home or Citrinitas.
Card text

If you control an "Artmage", "DoomZ", or "Elfnote" card: You can Special Summon 1 "Medius the Pure" from your hand or Deck. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects when that monster is Special Summoned. Blazing Dominion · TCG 7 May 2026

  • Starter
  • Flex · 0–1

Reveal a Power Patron monster in your Extra Deck, banish a card from your hand face-down, then add or summon a monster from the Deck that mentions it. Revealing Junora finds Elfnote Power Patron or Junoldo. Your opponent's monsters lose 100 ATK for each banished card.

  • Vidolia summoning Junoldo is a Junora from one card, at the price of a card from your hand.
  • Its GY lock needs Nerva, Jupiter and Junora together: not an Elfnote plan.
Card text

You can reveal 1 "Power Patron" monster in your Extra Deck; banish (face-down) 1 card from your hand, then add to your hand or Special Summon, 1 monster from your Deck that mentions that revealed monster's name (except in its once-per-turn restriction clause). You can only use this effect of "Plundered Power Patron Plane - Vidolia" once per turn. Monsters your opponent controls lose 100 ATK for each banished card. Your opponent cannot activate the effects of cards in the GY, while you control "Nerva the Power Patron of Creation", "Jupiter the Power Patron of Destruction", and "Junora the Power Patron of Tuning".

5 · Combo Lines

Four lines, each checked step by step against the official card text and the TCG list. Every line is in the combo simulator below, one card move per step.

Line 1 · One-card Lucina

Hand: Elfnote Lucina · Normal Summon unused

  1. Lucina to the center; add Regina. Regina summons itself by sending Lucina and calls Tinia.
  2. Tinia places Welcome Home; Welcome Home trades Tinia (WATER) for Elfnote Power Patron (FIRE).
  3. Power Patron lifts Regina to 9: June Pride. Regina returns to the hand; Power Patron adds Rhapsodia. Set it.

End: June Pride (center) · Welcome Home · Rhapsodia Set · Regina in hand.

Line 2 · Lucina + Theorealized Medius

Hand: Elfnote Lucina, Theorealized Medius · Normal Summon unused

  1. Lucina → Regina → Elfnote Power Patron, a Power Patron card on the field.
  2. Theorealized Medius from the hand adds Past Lull: Medius the Pure → Junoldo → Junora. Junoldo returns Lucina.
  3. Power Patron + Regina: June Pride; Power Patron adds Welcome Home. Its lock is gone.
  4. Theorealized Medius + Medius: Purification Power Patron, which adds Overdrive; Overdrive revives Medius.
  5. Welcome Home last: Lucina for Fortuna, which places Rhapsodia. Their turn: Mediclius over Junora, Fortuna and June Pride.

End: Junora · Fortuna · June Pride · Purification + Medius · Welcome Home · Rhapsodia, then Mediclius on their turn.

Line 3 · The rotation (their turn)

Start: Line 1's end board · a second Lucina in the Deck

  1. Rhapsodia: send Regina, revive Tinia, negate a card while June Pride still counts as your Synchro.
  2. June Pride tags out: Regina from the GY to the center, Fortuna from the Deck. Regina calls Lucina.
  3. Tinia switches in (hand banish), then Lucina (monster bounce), then Fortuna (Spell/Trap bounce).

Result: four disruptions and four monsters, from a one-card turn.

Line 4 · Going second

Hand: Elfnote Lucina, Medius the Pure

  1. Lucina → Regina → Junoldo → Junora: every face-up card they control is negated.
  2. Normal Summon Medius the Pure for Theorealized Medius; the pair makes Purification Power Patron, which adds Overdrive.
  3. Overdrive revives Medius; Purification + Medius: Mediclius. Medius's GY effect fills the third pointed zone.
  4. Mediclius negates their monsters and halves their ATK. Attack for 9900.

Why no June Pride: in the center it stops your side monsters from attacking.

Flex Main Deck slots

  • Fydraulis Harmonia: a Level 7 Tuner that summons itself when their monster activates an effect. The June lists ran it, but its lock turns off Mediclius and Purification Power Patron until the end of your next turn.
  • Plundered Power Patron Plane - Vidolia: a fourth starter (Junoldo into Junora) that costs a card from your hand.
  • Theorealize Liberation, Elfnotes: Quatrain of Succession, Elfnotes: A Plea for Help, Elfnotes: Aristeia of Trust: one of each at most, for the matchups in section 7.

Generic tech that fits

CardWhy it fits Elfnote
Chaos AngelMedius the Pure (DARK) counts as the Tuner and Fortuna (LIGHT) is the non-Tuner: both bonuses, and it banishes a card when summoned.
I:P MasquerenaLink Summons during your opponent's Main Phase: a second route to Mediclius, which then can't be destroyed by their card effects.
S:P Little KnightWith June Pride or Junora as material it banishes a card when summoned. Its Quick Effect banishes two face-up monsters, one of them yours, until the End Phase.
Crystal Wing Synchro DragonElfnote Power Patron + Strelitzia (a Synchro non-Tuner) is exactly Level 8.
Mulcharmy FuwalosNeeds you to control no cards, so it's a going-second hand trap that punishes their Deck and Extra Deck summons.
Called by the Grave · Crossout DesignatorProtect Lucina's search and Medius's summon effect from Ash Blossom.
Lightning Storm · Evenly Matched · Forbidden Droplet · Harpie's Feather DusterSide Deck breakers for going second. Harpie's Feather Duster is Limited.

Anti-synergies to plan around

  • Synchro-only locks. Elfnote Power Patron (while face-up), Welcome Home and Strelitzia (for the turn) and Fydraulis Harmonia (until the end of your next turn) all fence off Link Monsters. Make Links first, or on your opponent's turn.
  • Quatrain's Token. While it's out, only Elfnote monsters from the Extra Deck: no Junora, Chaos Angel or Mediclius.
  • Terminus. Only Power Patron monsters can attack the turn you use it.
  • June Pride and OTKs. Its center attack lock includes your own monsters.

7 · Competitive Verdict

Elfnote already had one of the best one-card starters around and an opponent's-turn game few decks match: four disruptions from Lucina alone. What held it back was the other half of the match. Its main monsters want to be on the field during the opponent's turn, so going second it leaned on hand traps, and player reports said so.

Beyond the Brave doesn't add Elfnotes; it adds a second route around that gap. Junoldo's Junora and Mediclius's negate-and-halve break boards without an Elfnote Quick Effect, and Mediclius's three-arrow banish turns the going-first board into a real lock. The limits stay: Droll & Lock Bird shuts both search engines at once, Nibiru catches both main lines past their fifth summon, and the key Tuner fences off its own Extra Deck. Tinia and Terminus at one copy also mean fewer natural draws of those pieces.

Strengths

  • A true one-card starter in Lucina, Medius the Pure and Citrinitas as extenders, and room for around 15 non-engine cards.
  • Disruption that arrives on the opponent's turn and reloads itself through June Pride.
  • Two board breakers that need no Elfnote Quick Effect: Junora's arrival and Mediclius.
  • Droll-proof refunds: Regina from the GY, Junoldo from the GY and Extra Deck.

Weaknesses

  • Droll & Lock Bird after the first search; Nibiru past the fifth summon.
  • Every good end board wants the center zone: effects that occupy or empty it hurt.
  • Lucina can't bounce Xyz or Link Monsters, and Tinia's banish is only until the End Phase.
  • Dark Ruler No More can't be answered with a monster effect.
