A Strategic Analysis of the Equip-Swarm Archetype
"The Inzektors are insectoid warriors who equip other Inzektors as biological armor, triggering devastating effects when equipped cards are sent to the Graveyard. Inzektor Hornet's targeted destruction was so relentless it once earned a Limitation. They are a swarm that weaponizes symbiosis—each bug making the next one deadlier."
The Inzektors are insect warriors who wear each other as armor, and many of them echo the insect heroes of Kamen Rider. Follow a marked name to walk the trail.
The basic member: it turns up wearing mantis and weevil armor in the Spells and Traps, which suggests the Giga monsters, Giga-Mantis and Giga-Weevil, are armors. Its theme and weapon recall the ZECTroopers of Kamen Rider Kabuto.
The attacking armor, which looks like Kamen Rider Gatack's Rider Form. It appears in Variable Form and Inzektor Orb.
The defending armor, counterpart to Giga-Mantis, like Kamen Rider Kabuto's Masked Form. Its name hides that of Weevil Underwood, the insect duelist of the original series.
A Japanese rhinoceros beetle, gold and black: Kamen Rider Kabuto, strongest of his group. It wields Zektahawk.
A tomahawk, held by Exa-Beetle, which may hold the Zektkaliber sword in its other hand.
Kabuto's partner Gatack, a stag beetle, one Rank lower and silver to Exa-Beetle's gold; the two names make "Exa-Stag Beetle". It wields Zektarrow.
A crossbow, like Kamen Rider Kuuga's in Pegasus Form, held by Exa-Stag.
A damselfly, though it looks more like a dragonfly. Like Kamen Rider Drake it fights with a gun. It appears in Final Inzektion and Zektrike Kou-ou.
A wasp, like Kamen Rider TheBee, with its stinger on the wrist, and it can sting again and again by equipping to other Inzektors. It and Dragonfly were the first Inzektors to be Limited.
Named like Kamen Rider KickHopper and PunchHopper. It was the first TCG-exclusive Inzektor.
A Japanese firefly. Ant appears in its art.
A mole cricket. It wears Gauntlet, built like Exa-Beetle.
The Inzektor archetype is an explosive, combo-centric DARK Insect strategy renowned for its unique equipping mechanic. The deck's power lies in its ability to repeatedly trigger the non-once-per-turn effects of its key monsters, Inzektor Dragonfly and Inzektor Centipede. This core interaction allows the deck to dismantle an opponent's board while simultaneously swarming the field to build imposing Extra Deck end boards. Success with Inzektors hinges on understanding how each piece functions within the intricate, chain-reaction protocol of the swarm, turning a few key cards into overwhelming advantage.
Inzektors operate on a "Host and Payload" system. "Hosts" like Dragonfly and Centipede provide powerful effects when triggered, while "Payloads" like Hornet equip to them and provide that trigger.
The heart of the engine. When an Equip Card is sent from it to the GY, it Special Summons an "Inzektor" from the Deck. This is NOT once per turn.
The primary searcher. When an Equip Card is sent from it to the GY, it adds any "Inzektor" card from Deck to hand. This is also NOT once per turn.
The main trigger. Equips from hand or GY, then sends itself to destroy any card on the field, activating your Host's effect.
An alternative trigger that enables Xyz plays by modulating levels instead of destroying cards.
This legendary two-card interaction forms the basis of nearly all Inzektor plays.
Start with Inzektor Dragonfly on the field and Inzektor Hornet in the Graveyard. This can be set up easily with the spell Zektrike Kou-ou.
Use Dragonfly's effect to equip Hornet from the GY. Then, activate Hornet's effect, sending it to the GY to destroy a card.
Because Hornet was sent to the GY, Dragonfly's effect triggers, Special Summoning Inzektor Centipede from the Deck. Centipede can now repeat the process with the same Hornet to search for any Inzektor card, continuing the loop.
Beginner Guide Available
A Dragonfly-opened line that leans on the repeatable Inzektor Ladybug equip-and-send loop to keep re-triggering Inzektor Dragonfly and Inzektor Centipede's non-once-per-turn effects. Each equip cycle chains into another Special Summon or search, snowballing through Zektrike Kou-ou and Inzektor Hornet to refill the hand and Graveyard. Number 60: Dugares the Timeless is Xyz Summoned early to power the swarm before being spent as Fusion Material, and two copies of Snake-Eyes Doomed Dragon are Fusion Summoned off Inzektor Giga-Mantis and Inzektor Giga-Weevil before themselves becoming the Xyz Material for Number 90: Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord. The line closes on a three-monster board of Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy, Number 90: Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord, and Number 3: Cicada King, with Inzektor Sword - Zektkaliber left in the Graveyard for follow-up.
