"The Qliphorts are digital demons from the Duel Terminal—Pendulum machines whose scales reduce their levels while maintaining devastating base stats. Qliphort Scout's Pendulum Effect searches any Qli card for 800 LP, and their Tribute Summoned forms bypass all response windows. They are the malware of the Pendulum dimension."

Naturia Sacred Tree
I · The Sacred Tree
  1. All life on the planet came from the Naturia Sacred Tree and returned to it at death. Long ago its goddess, Sophia, sealed Tierra, the Source of Destruction, inside it and broke the seal's Core into ten Pyroxenes. Now Tierra was stirring.
  2. Sensing the disturbance, Constellar Sombre used eight Pyroxenes to create the eight Yang Zing, dragons made from the land's life energy.
  3. In the Mist Valley marshes, the revived Gem-Knight Master Diamond had become Cairngorgon, stealing souls. He absorbed his old friend Evilswarm Kerykeion and became Shaddoll Core, which spawned the Shaddolls: the dead of the last war, trapped by Tierra.
  4. The Shaddolls stole the shadows of two Yang Zing. Then Chiwen fell from the sky and joined every Yang Zing into Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing.
  5. Warriors of light descended as the Tellarknights, heirs of the Constellar. When Unukalhai was taken and became Shaddoll Squamata, Kerykeion slipped his staff's shadow out to them, and Deneb, Altair and Vega became Stellarknight Delteros.
  6. With the Tellarknights' stolen power, the Shaddolls fused the fallen Yang Zing into dark dragons. From the eight Yang Zing Pyroxenes, Lapis's and its own Antiluminescent Stone, Shaddoll Core gathered the ten Cores, became El Shaddoll Grysta and, at Tierra's will, attacked the Sacred Tree.
  7. The Tellarknights, Ritual Beasts and Nekroz held a barrier around the Tree, until the Shaddolls took Ritual Beast Tamer Wen, born with great spiritual power, and made her El Shaddoll Wendigo.
  8. While the Tellarknights brought down Grysta, Wendigo broke the barrier, and El Shaddoll Winda, once the Gusto priestess Winda, touched the Tree. Her divine aura unsealed the Qliphort system sleeping beneath it.
  9. The Tree tore itself from the ground and drew the ten Cores out of Grysta's remains. They woke the Qliphorts, which hunted the Shaddolls as errors in the system. With Kerykeion holding it from within, the allies chained El Shaddoll Construct with the Apoqliphort Towers.
  10. But when Qliphort Scout absorbed Winda, Tierra took control and released the Infernoids, who flooded the world with purgatory flames, while the Qliphorts set out to purge all life on the surface.
  11. Dance Princess of the Nekroz revived Gem-Knight Master Diamond. To atone for what he had done as a Shaddoll, he fused with four Tellarknights into Stellarknight Constellar Diamond.
  12. Facing Infernoid Onuncu, Constellar Diamond was about to fall when Sombre returned with the ninth Yang Zing and fused with him and the Tellarknights into Tellarknight Ptolemaeus, who brought Onuncu down.
  13. Infernoid Devyaty stole the power of the three Ice Barrier dragons, freed El Shaddoll Shekhinaga from its icy seal and absorbed it, becoming El Shaddoll Anoyatyllis.
  14. Dance Princess of the Nekroz channelled the goddess herself as Nekroz of Sophia, and Exa channelled eight ancient Dragunities through the revived Yang Zing into a lance that could pierce gods.
  15. The Sacred Tree chose ten lives as the Zefra. With their help, Ptolemaeus and Sophia launched the lance with Satellarknight Alsahm's Sagittarius power and shattered Anoyatyllis.
  16. In its remains, Infernoid Decatron woke Tierra's true body. Tierra turned the revived Gem-Knight Lapis into Darktellarknight Batlamyus, absorbed her and the Qliphorts, and returned in full as Tierra, Source of Destruction.
  17. Ptolemaeus released her nine Yang Zing into the Tree, waking an eleventh Zefra, and Zefraath faced Tierra for a thousand days and nights. At dawn on the last day, both were gone.
  18. The dead trapped in the Infernoids' tubes came home. Gem-Knight Crystal and Lapis walked into the Tree's last light, seeking a world free of the gods.
Who's who

Executive Summary

The Qliphort archetype is a premier Pendulum-based control strategy, defined by its methodical Tribute Summoning engine. Unlike combo-oriented Pendulum decks, Qliphort leverages the mechanic for relentless resource generation, fueling a gameplay loop of Tribute Summons that establish powerful, self-protecting boss monsters. The entire system is built on a foundation of inevitability, aiming to out-grind and lock down the opponent through a combination of powerful monsters and oppressive floodgate traps.

Core Systems: The Pendulum-Tribute Engine

At its heart, the Qliphort strategy is a cyclical process. Players use the Pendulum mechanic to Special Summon multiple "Qli" monsters, which then serve as tributes for higher-Level "Qli" bosses. When tributed, these Pendulum monsters return to the Extra Deck, ready to be summoned again. This loop is balanced by a crucial restriction: while a "Qli" is in the Pendulum Zone, you can only Special Summon "Qli" monsters. This forces the deck to rely on its powerful in-archetype monsters and a strong backrow, rather than generic Extra Deck options. This design philosophy creates a unique stun strategy, centered around the corrupted computer system that powers the archetype's relentless assault.

The Command Core & Support Units

The Command Core

Qliphort Scout (Pendulum Scale 9)

The heart of the archetype. For 800 LP, it searches any "Qli" card, providing unparalleled consistency.

Qliphort Monolith (Pendulum Scale 1)

The payoff. It allows you to draw cards equal to the number of "Qli" monsters you Tribute Summoned, refueling your hand.

Utility & Assault Units

Qliphort Carrier & Helix

The primary tribute fodder. When tributed, Carrier bounces a monster, and Helix destroys a Spell/Trap.

Qliphort Stealth & Disk

The main Tribute Summon targets. Stealth provides un-chainable removal, while Disk floods the board for OTKs.

Saqlifice (Equip Spell)

A crucial tool that allows a monster to count as two tributes and searches a "Qli" monster when sent to the GY.

Core Play Sequence: The Stealth Chain Block

Qliphort's most important tactical maneuver is the "chain block." By understanding how simultaneous effects activate, you can make your removal effects un-chainable, guaranteeing you break your opponent's board.

Establish Tribute Fodder

Start with Qliphort Carrier and/or Qliphort Helix on the field. This can be done via a Pendulum Summon. These monsters have powerful effects when tributed.

Qliphort Stealth
2

Tribute Summon Stealth

Tribute your "Qli" monsters to Tribute Summon Qliphort Stealth. Upon a successful summon, the effects of Stealth, Carrier, and Helix will all trigger simultaneously.

3

Build the Chain

As the turn player, you choose the chain link order. Build the chain so Qliphort Stealth is the highest chain link (e.g., CL1: Carrier, CL2: Helix, CL3: Stealth). Because Stealth's effect states the opponent cannot respond, they are locked out of responding to the entire chain, guaranteeing your removal effects resolve.

Final Endboard: The Apoqliphort Towers

Apoqliphort Towers

Apoqliphort Towers
  • Summoning Condition: Requires three "Qli" Tributes to Normal Summon.
  • Immunity: Unaffected by Spell/Trap effects and activated effects of monsters with a lower Level/Rank.
  • Removal: Forces the opponent to send a monster from their hand or field to the GY each turn.

Floodgate Control Board

Skill Drain
1LIMITED
  • Skill Drain Synergy: Negates the self-reducing ATK/Level effect of Normal Summoned Qliphorts, turning them into powerful beatsticks.
  • Gozen Match / Rivalry: Restricts the opponent to one Attribute/Type, which doesn't affect the all-EARTH Machine Qliphort lineup.
  • Resilient Win Condition: The Qliphort engine operates perfectly under its own floodgates, providing a consistent path to victory.

Competitive Analysis

Strengths

  • Extreme Consistency: Qliphort Scout provides reliable access to the entire archetype toolbox.
  • Resource Recursion: The Pendulum mechanic ensures tributed monsters are never truly lost, fueling a powerful grind game.
  • Floodgate Synergy: One of the best archetypes at leveraging powerful floodgates like Skill Drain and Gozen Match.

Weaknesses

  • Single Chokepoint: Over-reliance on resolving Qliphort Scout makes it vulnerable to targeted disruption.
  • Backrow Removal: Highly susceptible to cards like Harpie's Feather Duster and Evenly Matched.
  • The Link Problem: Link monsters bypass the protection of Apoqliphort Towers, making the once-invincible boss much easier to remove.

Key Tech & Hybrids

  • "Pot of" Spells: Pot of Prosperity and Extravagance are excellent for digging for starters or floodgates.
  • Summoner's Art: A staple that directly searches for Qliphort Scout or Monolith.
  • Historical Tech: Vanity's Emptiness was once the deck's ultimate floodgate before it was forbidden.

Current TCG Banlist Status

Banlist Impact

While the Qliphort core remains untouched, the archetype's The deck benefits from Pendulum support, searchers like Summoner's Art, and powerful floodgates like Skill Drain. means restrictions on generic support cards do have an impact.

Affected Synergistic Cards
