THE DRACONIC CONVERGENCE
System Analysis: 2025 Format // Post-Savage Adjustment
"Dragon Link is the ultimate expression of draconic swarming—a deck that chains Dragon Special Summons into an endless cascade of Link and Synchro formations. Every Dragon summoned enables the next, creating a self-sustaining engine of draconic fury that culminates in boards so oppressive they redefine what it means to go first."
The history of the TCG is a cycle of obsolescence, yet Dragon Link stands as the eternal anomaly. Colloquially known as "D-Link," this strategy is not merely an archetype but a synergistic conglomerate of the most potent Dragon-type support printed over the last decade.
Following the prohibition of Borreload Savage Dragon and Baronne de Fleur, the deck has executed a critical pivot. No longer relying on generic omni-negates, the 2025 variant integrates the raw power of the Bystial control suite, the recursion of the Red-Eyes engine, and the oppressive disruption of the new Light and Darkness Dragonlord.
Function: Velocity & Extension
The tactical backbone. Rokket Tracer turns spent resources (Field Spells) into fresh bodies. Quick Launch serves as an unconditional extender.
Function: Control & Removal
Midrange dominance. Lubellion places continuous S/T support. Magnamhut guarantees follow-up for Turn 3.
Function: Consistency Access
The choke point. Romulus searches Dragon Ravine, unlocking the entire graveyard as a second hand.
Function: Recursion & Negation
Black Metal Dragon is not once-per-turn. Loops with REDMD to search Fullmetal Dragon for negation.
Input: Black Metal Dragon (1-Card Starter)
Dynamic: High-speed resource war.
The primary goal is to interrupt their recursion loop. Banishing Promethean Princess from their GY using Bystial Druiswurm or Magnamhut is often a turn-ending blow.
Dynamic: Battle Phase survival.
Tenpai relies entirely on the Battle Phase to OTK. Your interactions must happen before they enter battle or declare an attack.
MODERATE IMPACT: The Dragon Link archetype has been moderately restricted by the TCG banlist, with 3 cards limited.
Meta Implications: Thanks to its Extreme, Dragon Link remains playable despite the limitations.
